This 360,000 SF former pharmaceutical lab was totally renovated to support genome research. Major MEP system changes were made. A new central plant was constructed to provide steam and chilled water separate from the other buildings on the campus.

Benefit:
Commissioning of all new systems and equipment helped insure correct operation prior to start-up.

Central plant designed to meet USGBC LEED™ Certified rating.

Type of Services:

• Design and commissioning of all renovated MEP systems and new central plant
• Plant included 2,500 tons of chillers, 1,200 HP of steam boilers, 1,500 kVA emergency generator system, air compressors, medium-voltage substations
• New HVAC systems, including manifolding fume hood exhaust systems, separating lab AHU systems from animal areas and converting from recirculation to 100% outdoor air systems
• Complete replacement of fire alarm systems
• New central reverse osmosis lab water system

Pharmaceutical Packaging Lines D and E

Turnkey design and construction of all utility support for two new packaging lines.

Benefit:
Quality design that met the fast-track scheduling needs of the project.

• Reconfigured 7,500 SF and 8,200 SF of existing warehouse space and re-classified as a Class 100,000 cleanroom
• New constant volume AHU with terminal HEPA filtration
• New plumbing service for mist shower and degown areas
• Steam and condensate piping systems
• Chilled water, vacuum, compressed air and fire protection
• Electrical, telecommunications and fire alarm systems
• Room pressure, temperature and humidity controls for maintaining required space conditions

The new lab was designed to be built in phases such that operations could continue during construction.
